Well, it was another rainy day in Maine this past Saturday. I think all of us wedding people are getting used to working in rain boots at this point! Taylor and Sean, despite the rain, had a beautiful wedding day! The wedding was held at one of my favorite venues- Josias River Farm in Cape Neddick, Maine. Being a garden lover myself, I just adore this venue! There are stunning flowers and trees everywhere you look.
Weddings can be stressful, especially when curve balls get tossed in the way. Taylor really did not want rain, she really wanted an outside ceremony and, honestly, I get it. When planning a wedding at Josias couples dream of saying their vows surrounded by nature and a beautiful landscape. Taylor’s heart was, perhaps, a bit sad the wedding of her dreams was not happening. All of those feelings 100% washed away when she had her first look with her dad- such an emotional release for both of them! The skies continued to drizzle and the wedding ceremony began in the barn. Not every venue has such an amazing indoor backup space in case of inclement weather- the barn at Josias is a perfect plan B! As the doors opened and Taylor’s eyes met Sean’s, once again you could see her heart burst with joy and excitement and the rain wasn’t even a tiny thought in her mind.
The rain was on and off for the rest of the night and we were able to sneak outside and get some great portraits. Guests were even able to enjoy the outside law during cocktail hour and a good portion of the reception!
One of these days we will have a sunny wedding in Maine…until then we will all keep snuggling under umbrellas and dodging the raindrops as best we can! Congratulations Taylor and Sean- all the best to you!
