Taylor & Audie celebrated hard with the friends and family this past Saturday at the beautiful Union Bluff Meeting house in York, Maine. It was a long road planning a wedding during a pandemic, but they were professionals at this long road stuff. They have been together for over a decade! I loved their sweet story that started when Taylor was just a wee freshman in high school dating a (little, itty bitty, tiny bit) older Audie. Her parents were not super supportive. I’m not sure I would be OK with my high school daughter dating someone in college! But Taylor knew, in the bottom of her heart, that Audie was the one. Now, the plot thickens when we all find out that Taylor is not the first in her family to fall in love with an older man. Her father was much older than her mother AND her grandfather was also much older than her grandmother- both of their parents did not approve of this age gap and the pairs had to be sneaky and stick to their hearts! Such a cool piece of the love story. While the officiant was telling this story, Taylor turned to look at her mom in this very “I told you so” type of look- it was perfect!
And I can’t write this blog without mentioning the amazing florals by Laurie Andrew Designs- just take a look at that huge head table display and the bridesmaids floral pieces in the images below- WOW!
One of my favorite parts of the day was during the first look. As Taylor approached Audie on the Union Bluff lawn, the entire beach roared with excitement. Now, it wasn’t your average beach day. It was a hot, August, summer after a pandemic lock down kind of beach day. It was packed! Hundreds and hundreds of people cheered with excitement for them on their wedding day- goosebumps!
Taylor and Audie had a beautiful wedding to go with their beautiful love story. Congratulations you guys- Kerry and I were so honored to be there and loved every second of documenting your amazing day!
