It’s always a good feeling when you are packing up from a long wedding day and you are trying to make drink plans with the bride! We had such a fun day celebrating and documenting Shannon and Chris this past Saturday. It was a hot one- but not like this 95 degree heat wave kind of hot- just a perfectly hot summer day. And their cute little doggie, Dutch, was there to make it extra perfect!
We had never been to Josias River Farm before and was pleasantly surprised at all of the little nooks and crannies there was to shoot in. There were beautiful gardens and trees and water features filling the property. If I was in the wedding venue business, this is where I would want to be! But, hey, I am in the photography business and loved every minute of photographing there!
Back to Shannon and Chris. Their story is amazing. Shannon’s maid of honor, Lindsey, is also her cousin. Lindsey and her family happened to grown up next to Chris and his family. The two families were always playing together…even when Shannon and her family came over to visit. I love the fact that they were just innocent kids playing and growing up together not having any clue that, one day, they will be married.
Fast forward some years to Lindsey’s own wedding where Chris and Shannon met again as adults. Que the sparks! Shannon and Chris were over the moon, their families were over the moon- match. made. in. heaven!
I swear we have been so lucky this year to work with some of the most loving and fun people. Shannon and Chris, and their families, were so welcoming and loving and just overall happy to have this wedding day happen. It was amazing to be there to capture it all from getting ready to the hot dance floor!! Chris has moves like you would not believe… Especially when Broken Glass comes on. That song has been on repeat in my head for three days now!
Congratulations guys!! Thank you for including us in your wedding day!
