Natalie and Joakie were married last year in a small ceremony with just their closest family present. I was there to document their wedding and was so excited to see them again this year for their second ceremony and reception!
The girls got ready on the beautiful Maine coast in Biddeford Pool, which is also where Joakie met up with Natalie for their first look. I feel the need to say that Joakie is not a huge fan of taking photos (although he is so SO good at it) especially in front of other people. When he crested the dunes to the beach he said “oh man, it’s packed.” My heart sank. I poked my head around Joakie and saw maybe 6 people dotted around the beach area. “This is great!” I said, obviously way more excited then my groom buddy next to me.
I could feel a little tension rising from Joakie while Kerry and I were getting everyone into place for the first look. Natalie walked up to Joakie and as soon as his eyes met hers it was like all his stress melted into the hot sand. His face lit up with the biggest smile and it was as if they were the only two on the entire beach. Now, let me remind you these two have already been married a full year to the day…and he still beamed at the site of his beautiful bride. I think that is pretty darn amazing.
We then moved on to the ceremony and reception at The Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport. The day was hot and sunny and perfect for a celebration on the water. It was so nice to see Natalie and Joakie’s families again and to meet all of their fun friends who absolutely tore up the dance floor! Kerry and I could barely squeak in to get some shots. Eye 2 Eye rocked the house with a special guest appearance from Phoebe Ryan. Natalie and Joakie could not have looked any happier to be surrounded by all the people they love.
