Mairead and Ryan exchanged their vows on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Bethel, Maine. With that pesky Hurricane Lee out of the way, there was nothing to worry about!
I’m not in the mountains much these days. You can find me on the coast most weddings so when I am pulled inland I always try to take it all in. The layers of mountains are so spectacular! I grew up in Western Maine, close to the Bethel area so it holds a special place in my heart. It clearly holds a special place in Mairead & Ryan’s hearts as well. Their ceremony was held in the front yard of Ryan’s family cabin. With a backdrop of mountain on mountain it is very clear why they chose this wonderful location.
Besides the most picturesque location, my favorite things about this wedding day was a lucky sheep Mairead pinned to the inside of her dress and the plumber cufflinks Ryan and his Dad were wearing. Such cute details!
Mairead & Ryan wanted to capture as many angles of the mountains as possible so we popped around to a few different locations as we made our way to the reception. A couple different neighbor’s houses and a field off the side of the road were our beautiful pit stops. I can’t even tell you which one my favorite was, they were all so different and beautiful in their own way and gives the final gallery so much variety!
When the bride and groom settled down into the dinner portion of the night at Modern Barn, I had plenty of time to wander around and do some people watching. They had the most epic of three course meals and after I got all the shots I needed to I was able to look around and really take in all of the happy faces and feel all the love in the room. Mairead and Ryan’s guests were all so happy to be there to support and congratulate the newlyweds. After dinner the dance floor opened and it opened hot!! The dancing was non-stop for the rest of the night. So…much…fun!
Congratulations Mairead and Ryan- you deserved every second of the amazing wedding day that you had!
