This was one special wedding to photograph- Lisa and Kurt are family. Lisa is my husband’s aunt/Godmother. She was part of the reason I met my husband and had a strong hand in making sure that it happened in the first place. So needless to say, I have know Lisa a very long time and she holds a special place in my heart. We have spent many afternoons at their pool during the summer months and Kurt lets my kiddos climb in and around his excavator- he even let my son drive it with him, which I am pretty sure was the highlight of his summer! Lisa & Kurt are great people and it was an honor to be there to document one of their most special days.
One thing I noticed immediately upon arriving for the day was how happy Lisa was. Now, she is normally a very happy, bubbly person- but this day was different. I have never seen her THAT happy. It was just pouring out of her! There was calmness and excitement throughout the getting ready portion of the day that led straight into the ceremony. Lisa was led down the isle by her three boys- one of which rocked the flower dude roll like no other! Kurt was waiting patiently with his son by his side. Lisa and Kurt’s good friend was the officiant which completed the intimate feeling to the ceremony.
After the ceremony was one of the sweetest first dances I have seen! Their song started playing and Lisa & Kurt danced in the sunshine and warm mountain air, clearly over the moon in love and happiness. Not gonna lie, I got a little chocked up. It makes me happy to see other people happy and some times I just can’t handle it 🙂 🙂
Congratulations Lisa & Kurt- ALL the best to you guys!
