This past Saturday was kind of magical. It was predicted to rain (shocker) all day- I am talking tropical downpour, all day rain. Josh, Jess and I chatted earlier in the week and they had come to terms with a rainy wedding day. They had ordered umbrellas and moved the ceremony to the Barn- checking all the rainy day boxes. Fast forward to Saturday morning, forecast still called for 100% rain ALL day. Well, the minutes past by…no rain. The hours passed by…NO rain. I didn’t dare say anything too loud in case I jinxed it, but the rain just kept holding off.
The ceremony was moved in doors days before and that was kept in place- no one wants it to start pouring buckets mid ceremony. My favorite part of the ceremony was when the officiant invited the father of the groom up for a surprise poem that Jess & Josh wrote for him, Rob (father of the groom) just put up his hand and said “No thanks.” It was a hard no and everyone laughed. Jess and Josh, of course, new this would be his reaction to their little trick.
A little back story- Josh is Kerry’s cousin. I have known him for about 15 years now and I have honestly never seen him more happy than he was on his wedding day. Josh was just so completely over the moon to be marrying Jess- I don’t think the smile left his face the entire day!
There were so many favorite moments I had from this wedding- topping the list might be when Jess found out that not only her new husband, but all of the groomsmen, were wearing socks with her face on them. She lost it- SO much laughter and borderline disbelief at how funny the situation was!
I could go on and on about how wonderful Jess and Josh’s wedding was, but I won’t, you can just go on and see for yourself from the photos!
Side note- it did rain for about an hour at some point in the night and Kerry and I were able to capture a fun rain shot that we had tested for this exact moment.
Congratulation Josh and Jess- thank you for throwing an amazing wedding with a crazy dance floor and willing to snuggle in the rain for a bit. ALL the best to you both!
