Erica & Nate celebrated their marriage at the beautiful Garden Gate at Haley Farm in Sebago Maine. I feel like I have been chatting with these two for years about their wedding…and I actually have! They booked me early in the planning process and had to postpone their date by a little over a year. They were married on their original 2020 date and then hosted a beautiful celebration with friends and family this past weekend.
I have never been to Garden Gate at Haley Farm before and was excited to photograph there. I parked the car and started walking in and what do I see? A cute little chicken coop full of cute little chickens…this was my kind of place (I have a boat load of chickens at home). Past the coop was an amazing farmhouse with a beautiful barn attached- my expectations were exceeded! THEN, as Erica and the fabulous Chev, of Chevaughn Marie Designs, and I were looking out over the cocktail area we see this breathtaking sea of butterflies floating amongst the flower beds. There were so many butterflies. Like dozens and dozens of butterflies. I have never seen so many butterflies in one area in the wild before- it was magical!
The simple and beautiful venue fit Erica and Nate perfectly. It was so fun to watch their quite love for each other. The quote that came up over and over again throughout the day was “better when we’re together” and that was obviously true. The way they looked at each other, the way they stood so close while talking to their guests and the way they rarely were seen not holding hands were just a few clues into how deep their love is.
