Aurora & Nolan held a beautiful ceremony at Megunticook Lake this past weekend. The rain held off to give them a perfect day for a lakeside wedding. Aurora and Nolan, like so many others, were supposed to be married last year. They instead had a small marriage ceremony earlier this year and were able to celebrate with their loved ones to celebrate at the lake!
I am going to stereotype a little bit here and say that usually when I photograph both the bridesmaids and groomsmen getting ready- the guys are usually the more rowdy of the two. Not in this case! These girls were ready to party long before I showed up! There were drinks and cheers and lots of “wooooo”ing- they were so. much. fun!
The ceremony site was one of the most romantic I have seen. After a magical walk down a tall, tree-lined path, a long boardwalk pathway led to a beautifully simple arbor on the dock. Perfection.
The small guest count made it possible for Aurora and Nolan to be present and enjoy each and every person in attendance. An intimate cocktail hour led way to a classic Maine lobster bake. Dinner was followed by some sweet dances and then open dancing under the trees.
I wish I could have stayed and partied with this fun group all night, but I had my family to get home to. Which is exactly what I told Aurora. And that sweet sole said if I can’t stay then I at least need to bring some goodies back for my babies. She then proceeded to cut and wrap up a QUARTER of her wedding cake for me to take home. What a lady! She doesn’t know my kids but she definitely knows the way to their hearts. I let them eat the whole thing the next day 🙂
Congratulations Aurora and Nolan- so so honored to be with you to celebrate!
