Ali & Steve were married this past weekend at The Red Barn at Outlook Farm in South Berwick Maine. It was a beautiful early fall day here in Maine and the clouds could not have been any kinder to us! Ali and Steve got ready at The Anchorage Hotel in Ogunquit and wished to have all of their family and wedding party portraits done with the ocean in the background. Now, the Anchorage has a beautiful grassy area, but it is very sloped, so we basically had only one way we could shoot and that way would have everyone looking directly into the sun….not ideal at all. I will avoid clients looking into the sun at all cost, it doesn’t look right and it certainly is not great for the eyeballs! We were SO fortunate that a thick cloud cover rolled over as Ali and Steve had their first look. I honestly could not believe the luck, Ali and Steve must have some really great karma because the lighting was perfection!
I met Ali and Steve last year during their engagement session down in Cape Cod. We actually doubled up on their session and added some family shots into the mix as well. I also got the pleasure of photographing Ali’s sister’s family when they welcomed a new baby boy to their family earlier this year. It was so great to see the soon to be husband and wife along with all of Ali’s family again!
After the epic portraits we made our way to The Red Barn for their ceremony. It started off very sunny and a tad hot for the guests, but those big beautiful clouds rolled in and saved the day again! After the ceremony we took some more must have group shots and then were able to sneak out onto the golf course for just a few minutes before the reception began. Ali and Steve crushed the small amount of time we had for an early sunset session. Then it was party time! The band was rocking and the guests came ready to celebrate and party hard! I love a packed dance floor and this one was packed from the get go!
If anyone deserved the perfect wedding day, it is Ali and Steve- they are sweet, kind, full of love and just really enjoyed every moment. Congratulations Ali and Steve, we were so honored to document your amazing wedding day!
