Lindsay & Tyler are two super sweet and super kind humans and I am so honored to have photographed their stunning wedding day! I pulled up to the condo complex in Old Orchard Beach and felt a little lost. I couldn’t find the numbers on the buildings and there were so many doors to choose from! I honestly wasn’t even sure I was at the right place until I heard that sweet sound of bridesmaid laughter… and I knew I was in the right place and it was going to be a good day.
Lindsay is a classic beauty that had a simple elegant style for her wedding. I loved the pearl touches in her hair! It paired perfectly with her lace dress- wow wow! As I was looking for a place to photograph said dress, Mal, Lindsay’s sister, helped me out. I wanted to hang it so the ocean was present in the background but was unsure of the cleanliness of the walls. Mal and I both looked at each other and said “it doesn’t look that dirty” referring to the top wall section. We decided to give it a quick wipe anyway. Mal hopped up on a chair with a wet cloth and man oh man! the dirt that came of that sucker was intense!! If you look closely at the dress shot you will see Mal’s hard work…I left it in there because, hey, that’s real life!
We then headed off to Dunegrass Golf Club for the ceremony and reception. It has been years since I have photographed there and it was so nice to be back! The light was absolute perfection- it almost felt secret garden esque. As Lindsay started walking down the isle towards her future husband, the music began. There were giggles coming from the bridesmaids and full blown laughter coming from Lindsay. I was a little confused but then realized the song was “Heaven Is A Place On Earth” by Linda Carlisle. You know…..”Ohh baby do you know what that’s worth…ohhh heaven is a place on earth.” Turns out there was a bit of a miscommunication with the DJ and this song played instead of the chosen song by Lindsay and Tyler. Now, in normal circumstances, this could have been slightly devastating. However, Lindsay LOVES this song and both her and Tyler were absolute angels about the whole thing!
The rest of the day went off without a hitch. It actually turned into quite the fun rager with tequila shots during the maid of honor speeches and some late night crowd surfing by none other than Tyler and Lindsay. I was even able to connect with a sweet couple I photographed a few years back at their own wedding who were guests at this wedding! It was just an all around amazing day for two amazing people- congratulations Lindsay and Tyler!
