Amanda & Matt – Three Chimney’s Inn, Durham, NH Wedding

I met Amanda & Matt last fall for their engagement session. We walked around the cobblestone streets of Portland’s Old Port and froze our fingers off- it was SO cold! We got some really cute, cuddly shots and I was feeling even more excited for their wedding. Fast forward to a steamy day in August, and here we are…wedding day!! The forecast called for rain- luckily Amanda’s mom knew a little trick of hanging a cross out the window to keep the rain at bay. I’m not sure if it was the cross out the window that worked, but the rain held off until we all headed in for the reception!

Amanda had envisioned the first look on the most beautiful bridge overlooking Mill Pond and the Oyster River. They were so excited and happy to see each other- they completely nailed the first look! We then took some formal photos in the courtyard at Three Chimney’s Inn- it reminded me of a rain forest with all the lush greenery. Come to find out that the Three Chimney’s Inn is actually where Matt and Amanda had their first date! How amazing to have your first date and wedding at the same location!

The day continued on with a heartfelt ceremony and fun cocktail hour filled with laughter. It had been a few weeks since my husband, Kerry, and I shot a wedding together. We were talking during dinner about how fun of a wedding it was- between the great bridal party and multiple icings of the groom we didn’t think it could get much better…and then the dance floor opened up and BAM! The party was hoppin’! We both at one point were pinned against the wall by the most energetic dance crew. Luckily we were able to dance our own way out and catch some great shots of the guest rocking out to the music.
