The sun decided to make its first Saturday appearance in FOREVER for Alyssa & Evan’s wedding. It was a huge mood boost and felt absolutely amazing! I was back at the lovely Josias River Farm in Cape Neddick, Maine for the second week in a row. The wedding timeline was much different than most weddings. Alyssa and Evan planned a cocktail hour for their guests on the lawn in front of the house. The cocktail hour was followed by their lovely ceremony in the garden space. The casual, laid-back feel continued on to the reception with delicious pizza from Flatbread in another fun, cocktail-like atmosphere in the back lawn. When it was time to party hard, everyone moved into the barn for some dancing!
I love emotional weddings. They create such wonderful images! Evan was emotional and hilarious all at the same time. He knew he was a ball of emotion ready to burst and let everyone know before the ceremony he was putting his cup of water at the alter to rehydrate from all the tears that were about to happen. He was spot on and it was wonderful! Evan couldn’t hold back when Alyssa walked down the isle. Kerry (AKA go-to second shooter/husband) got his “money shot” as we like to call it from the back of the isle during that moment. I loved how Evan grasped Alyssa’s hand with both of his as they walked out of the ceremony as husband and wife- I don’t know if I have ever seen a groom do this. It was like he was so happy he just couldn’t let her go!
The laid back style of the wedding fit this couple perfectly. The night was filled with hugs and kisses and love for all friends and family in attendance. Alyssa had a smile from ear to ear pretty much the entire day and could not stop hugging all of the guests. If she wasn’t hugging her guests you could probably find her smooching her new husband! The love these two showed for each other was unmatched!
Congratulations Alyssa and Evan- all the best to you!
